In October 2013 I had a hemorrhagic stroke that caused
paralysis in my right, dominant side, as well as apraxia, aphasia,
and some cognitive and memory defects. My new-found disabilitie
had left me unable to work. The silver lining is that it’s given me an
opportunity to consciously try to find balance and my footing
in most areas of my life.
I’ve worked left-handed since the stroke. Art has been a
constant exercise in re-learning, dexterity and patience. Drawing
and painting are forms of meditation. My techniques in realism are
methodical and comforting. I’ve learned to use a computer as a
tool; a new medium. I’m well-versed in Adobe products. I’d like to
consider myself a Jack and master of all trades. What I don’t know,
I’m willing to learn.
I am always at study, always at work.
